Have you been at the crag and witnessed another climber become seriously hurt while climbing a route? Or have you witnessed a newer climber become rigid with fear after getting to the top of a climb, with no words of encouragement able to free their grip from the anchor? Potentially you and your partner had a close encounter with a swarm of Africanized Bees? These are just a few of the many scenarios that require the knowledge of Self Rescue.
This Single-Pitch Self Rescue Course is a perfect course for any climber that is now enjoying the sport outside. Whether an incident occurs to us, our partner, or another climbing party beside you, it is an empowering feeling to know what to do in order to assist the situation. Don't be the climber at the crag that doesn't know what to do if something goes wrong! This course does not provide information on the treatment of patients who have been injured in the backcountry environment. A Wilderness First Responder (WFR) Certification is a great benefit for any backcountry enthusiast and highly recommended! COURSE OUTCOMES This course is designed for the person looking to learn the skills and techniques to perform a smooth and efficient rescue of a climber stranded in the single-pitch environment, with no immediate option to lower them back to the ground. These skills will be learned in the climbing areas around Prescott, where you will be climbing on amazing granite and surrounded by some of the most beautiful vistas and wildlife Arizona has to offer:
