Kody's BioGuide
Kody grew up in the Ozarks of rural southern Missouri where he spent most of his time as a child roaming the woods, hunting, and fishing. As an adolescent he volunteered on a trail crew for multiple summers in the Flat Tops Wilderness area in northern Colorado. Then, after high school he pursued a career as a wildland firefighter, which enabled him to travel to many remote and mountainous locations throughout the country. One of his major accomplishments in wildland firefighting was when he was selected to become a Heli-Rappeller (person who rappels out of helicopters to fight fires). Kody has always had and adventurous spirit and started rock climbing when he moved to Arizona in 2016. In 2021 after some encouragement from some friends he took the AMGA SPI course, and in 2022 he successfully completed the AMGA SPI Exam. Kody has always consistently worked to improve his technical climbing skills and abilities to be more efficient and safer. Kody enjoys teaching and is committed to both the safety and the experience of the clients. Kody is a Wilderness First Responder and a Certified American Mountain Guides Association (AMGA) Single-Pitch Instructor. |
