Set in the rugged walls of Sullivan's Canyon just north of Chino Valley, this two-day immersive clinic blends technical crack climbing instruction with a comprehensive introduction to traditional climbing systems. The canyon offers a climbing experience unique to the Prescott region; classic basalt cracks, adventurous movement, and single-pitch terrain that allows for focused skill progression without big-commitment exposure.
Why Sullivan’s Canyon? Sullivan’s Canyon features two main climbing areas with nearly 100 routes ranging from 30–60 feet tall on both sides of the canyon. The setting provides abundant crack climbing at varied sizes, single-pitch routes ideal for learning and mock leads and flexible sun/shade options; simply drop your rope where conditions are best. Like much of Northern Arizona, the climbing carries a classic adventurous feel, yet the single-pitch environment makes it a controlled and ideal classroom for developing trad skills.
