Single Pitch Rappelling

Learn to descend with confidence - your first step toward real climbing independence. Rappelling is one of the most exciting and empowering skills in climbing. In this 2-hour course, we introduce you to the fundamentals of descending safely and smoothly on a single rope. Whether you’re brand new to climbing or looking to round out your skillset, this experience blends adventure, movement, and practical education into one unforgettable session.

Set against the stunning backdrop of the Granite Dells, you’ll not only enjoy the thrill of stepping backward off a cliff, you’ll also begin building the knowledge needed to operate more independently in the vertical world.

What You’ll Learn
  • Proper rappel setup and safety checks
  • Equipment use: harness, device, and rope systems
  • Body positioning and movement on rappel
  • Backup systems and basic risk management
  • Communication and partner awareness

What to ExpectAfter a brief introduction and gear fitting, we’ll head to a short approach location and get you on the rope quickly. You’ll have multiple opportunities to rappel, refine your technique, and build comfort with height, all under the guidance of our experienced instructors.

Who This Is For
  • First-time climbers or adventurers
  • Climbers wanting to build foundational skills
  • Anyone looking for a fun, low-commitment introduction to technical rope systems

Why Take This CourseThis isn’t just a “try it once” experience. It’s the beginning of a progression. You’ll leave with real, usable skills and a clear understanding of what it takes to continue learning and moving toward self-sufficiency in climbing environments.
