Two Classic Climbs. One Big Day.
Experience the Granite Mountain Wilderness the way it was meant to be experienced. The Granite Mountain Wilderness Classics Linkup combines two of the area's most iconic climbing formations, Lizard Head and Waves of Rock, into a single full day adventure. While neither objective is located on Granite Mountain itself, both offer the adventurous character, scenic beauty, and classic granite climbing that have made the area a favorite among Arizona climbers. This area is not subject to the same falcon closures as Granite Mountain itself, so it offers multi-pitch climbing year round. This is more than a climbing day. It's a true mountain adventure that rewards effort with spectacular scenery, varied terrain, and the satisfaction of covering significant ground through one of Prescott's most unique wilderness areas. Depending on pace, conditions, and group ability, participants may complete up to five pitches of climbing throughout the day, connected by hiking, scrambling, and mountain travel between objectives. This trip showcases the broader Granite Mountain Wilderness experience, combining climbing, hiking, route finding, and exploration across multiple formations in a single unforgettable day.
